In this serie Ilaria Micale wanted to explore her relation with Italy. Born in Italy by Italian parents but raised in Geneva, Switzerland, she has a conflicted relation with her country of origins, she sees it as an outside and insider.
This tension allows her to see the small details of the everyday life that make her feel in Italy, at home. Hence the title of the serie « Sapore di casa » – « Flavour of Home ».
The serie is composed of two paintings on canvas 70x100cm and height painting on paper, half of them represent her family and the other half the people she encountered in the street.
The serie has been exposed in the Gatbsy Cafè from the 15.10.21 to the 2.11.21
